LTT and JetBlue University Agree to Training Cooperation
Aeronautical Training compliant with EASA standards in North America
Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) has signed a cooperation agreement with the College of Technical Operations of JetBlue Airways Corporation in Orlando, Florida, for the joint provision of technical aircraft type training for the Embraer 170/190 in accordance with the requirements of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the provisions of Specification 104 of the
Air Transport Association (ATA) in North America.
Klaus Schmidt-Klyk - Vice President Marketing, Sales & Business Development at LTT:
"In the North American market we are seeing a lot of demand for aircraft technical training that satisfies the recommendations not just of ATA 104 but also of EASA Part 66. We are therefore delighted to have gained in the College a partner recognized industry-wide with which we can offer our expertise and competence at delivering EASA-approved courses in North America."
The College provides qualified instructors with extensive practical experience as well as access to the relevant maintenance documentation and the available training media. Based on this, LTT will develop EASA-approved type training courses and examinations for categories B1, B2, and C, qualify the instructors in accordance with current European requirements and
arrange for the courses to be recognized under LTT's existing EASA Part 147 license. The courses and examinations offered will comply with the current requirements of EASA and also with LTT quality standards and will be given at various sites in North America.
Andrew Kozak - Manager College of Technical Operations JetBlue University:

This cooperation is in line with our strategy of becoming more prominent globally as a training provider and as an international qualification expert. It is our intention to steadily grow our involvement in this area."
