Kangan Institute in Australia and Lufthansa Technical Training signed a Cooperation Agreement
Strength in partnerships
Kangan Institute's Aviation Industry Training Centre (AITC) and Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) recently signed a cooperation agreement about the provision of courseware and examination service.
The agreement will see the AITC deliver category B1 and B2 basic training according to the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards by using Lufthansa Technical Training's industry Training Material. The trainings will be completed by
EASA approved basic examinations conducted by LTT.
Kangan Institute's Aviation Industry Training Centre increased its capacity to deliver world-class training last month when it entered into a new training agreement with industry partner Lufthansa Technical Training.
AITC manager Mike Heffey says this is a great new direction for a partnership which was established more than two years ago.
"We initially established our partnership with Lufthansa Technical Training in 2008, which coincided with our purchase of a Boeing 737 and our specialist CASA accreditation," he says. "Since then, the partnership has had some really great outcomes, like having access to world class aircraft type and specialist aviation continuation training. Under this new agreement, LTT will provide us with courseware and approved EASA examination services for international students starting from the beginning of 2011. This new agreement really builds on the success of the past two years and will help us develop our training reach into the global aviation industry."
"Lufthansa Technical Training is extremely pleased to be strengthening the partnership with Kangan Institute and that this new development is a fine example of how the two organisations are working together to add new outcomes and services to the Australian market", stated Christoph Meyerrose, CEO of Lufthansa Technical Training. As part of the agreement, the AITC and LTT will cooperate closely to assist with business development and industry networking. The companies will also share training knowledge, expertise and products to better support the local, domestic and international aviation sectors. As a world-renowned aviation brand, students completing the LTT training will graduate with improved employment prospects and a qualification which is recognised around the globe. An added benefit of the training is the potential for students to move into a pathway to university study following their training with Kangan Institute.
